LA GESTION ADAPTATIVE DES ANATIDÉS

Léo Bacon

Résumé

Waterfowl adaptative management. Adaptive management is considered as the way to reduce conflicts about hunting, while allowing a level of harvest compatible with the conservation status of the populations and the best knowledge of their dynamics. Adaptive management of waterfowl populations has proven to be most efficient in North America. This paper first provides a clear definition of what adaptive management actually is, then summarises the history of its implementation in North America, with the aim of helping its development in France and in Europe.
